I am thinking about buying a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee it is a special edition 4WD, it has 46,000 miles on it, 6cylinder, 4.0L engine, has everything leather seats, sunroof heated seats. Was Just wondering on more opionions on Jeep Cherokee and if this seems like a resonable price before really considering it. My mother has a 1987 Jeep Cherokee and it has over 200,000 miles on it runs great, but that can just be a lucky one out of the bunch. Please tell me what you think it will help me out alot Thank You!!! By the way I forgot to say how much they was offering 16,599.00...
Answer:You didn't mention the asking price. I'm sure you've checked the blue book. As for the vehicle, it's the best damn vehicle I ever bought. It's got the 4.0L straight six. That engine has been around for over 50 years (carburated in the old days). It's essentially the same as the old Chevy six. As for performance, if my front tires touched it before my bumper, that car would climb it. I chased elk thru the Rockies with my Wagoneer. BTW, I still have my '89 Wagoneer. It's beat up, but it runs like new. It's got over 300,000 miles and I'd still drive it to the west coast (I have several times) from N Y. Buy it and enjoy. And don't be afraid to do the back woods.
I have a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee that occasionally will click when the car is turned off and the keys are NOT in the ignition. The clicking occurs even then whe door is closed and when overhead pilot light is turned on it flashes with the clikcing sound. When you put the key in the clicks slow down and when you tyurn it over they stop - then the clicking comes form the engine area. It is a constant clicking sound which when occurs the car is not operable - but only occurs occasionally. Recently it has been more and more frequent. Anyone else expereince this? If so what did you do? HELP!! Thank you in advance!
Answer:sounds like a relay going. it obviously controlls something, try isolating it and unplugging it to se what then doen't work, or check with a wiring diagram to see what it controlls
I have a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a 4.0L it has a 231j transfer case and i wanted to know if a 231j on a 1995 Jeep Cherokee is the same?
Answer:Yes both transfer cases are the same. The only difference you might find is the yokes for the drive shafts. These might or might not be different.
I dont have the owners manual to the used 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee that i just purchased. One thing im having a problem with is trying to figure out how to turn on the factory fog lamps which are located below the front bumper. Ive tried the stem for the head lamps on the steeing wheel in every position i can think of and no luck yet....Pleeeze help
Answer:While I am not familiar with the dashboard controls of the Jeep, I CAN tell you how to get an owners manual. The good news is: Jeep has an owner resource website from which you can download FREE owners manuals The bad news is: The FREE ones only go back to the 2004 model year. BUT, you can order older model year (1995-2003) books from the same site. If i were you, I would order the 2002 manuals (you will probably want/need it anyway, right?) but I would also take advantage of the free download .... I am sure that the location/operation of the fog-lamp switch didn't change much between '02 and '04 ...so download the '04 manual . That will get you the info you need quickly. I hope this helps.! ;-) oops , i almost forgot to post the link to the site! http://www.jeep.com/en/owners/manuals/index.html
I am looking to buy a 99 jeep grand cherokee for 7000 with 51000 miles. i was wondering what to cherck first on the truck and what to look for most common problems? also how do i make sure the 4 wheel drive is working correctly? thanks
Answer:First thing you should check: your head for thinking of buying such a crappy car.
I'm about to buy a jeep grand cherokee but they said it misfires when first started up but it drives perfectly fine. What could this have to do with the jeep? And how much would it be to replace what needs to be fixed? They said it might be the spark plugs.
Answer:Misfires are tricky things, many problems can cause them. the most common is a fouled spark plug. although a bad coil or plug wire could be the culprit too. A bad or clogged injector is another simple fix. I could also be something more complicated and labor intensive, like a bad valve or cracked piston. I've seen all of these cause a misfire.
I am thinking about buying the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8, I am aware of its amazing power and acceleration, but is it built like all the other jeeps? How is it in the snow and bad weather? And I see that its a 4x4, but is that full time or can you put it in 4x4 low? Thanks.
Answer:The SRT8 Grand Cherokee is AWD, not 4WD. There is no lockable 4WD mode. If all you are doing it city driving, you should have no trouble. It does have very large, wide tires that will push the snow instead of cut thru it, but I dont think you are buying this vehicle to really drive it in mud or snow, are you. And to the moron who said by a Ford...I would put the capabilities of a Jeep against any Ford SUV and see who gets to the top of the mountain first. JEEP = 4X4. Always has, always will.
I own a 05 jeep grand cherokee I like it but I don't like the amount it costs to fill it. My husband found a really good deal on a chrysler crossfire its an 04 and is loaded with low miles. I am considering trading it. Anyone have a crossfire or know anything about them. I know its not a good winter car but thats ok we have a 4wd vehicle.
Answer:If I were you, I would look into a Toyota Solara, Honda Accord coupe or Altima Coupe. The reason I say this is because they don't cost a lot of money, they last a long time, and resale value is excellent. The Crossfire has dismal resale value and will be nowhere near as reliable. Check Edmunds.com for reviews on cars in that class and you'll see what I am talking about.
I have a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee, the issue that I am having is with starting the car. Lately it isn't getting power consistently when I try to start it. I put the key in the ignitiona nd the dash doesn't light up and the fuse box in the car and under the hood start clicking. The dash lights will flicker and the starter wont even click. Sometimes we can get it working by pushing the shifter forward (making sure it is in park) of by puching the brake down. The dash lights up then and the car starts fine. You can drive it around and runs like normal but go and shut of the engine and I could have the issue again or it may start normal. What do yu think is wrong?
Answer:Check you relay, either your auto shut down relay or starter and possibly the fuel pump relay. if you have to stomp down on the brake pedal it could also be the neutral safety switch located on the transmission. also check you shifter linkage, it may not be going into park fully thats why you have to play with the shifter.
Hi. I'm planning on buying a Jeep Grand Cherokee soon and couldn't decide between the Laredo and Rocky Mountain packages. I know that Rocky Mountain has some more features but was wondering whether there are any external body differences between the models. From looking at pictures, it seemed like the Rocky Mountain was a little lower to the ground than the Laredo, but I might be mistaken. Thanks in advance.
Answer:Rocky Mountain Edition is the luxury edition.
